The information contained in this annual reports website is presented in a different format than you are probably accustomed to. The complete content of the annual report and consolidated financial statements 2008 Rabobank Group have been divided into paragraphs. Key words that are linked to each paragraph are listed in the menu on the left of the screen. You can search the reports simply by clicking on a key word. This enables you to refine your search results. After each click, only the paragraphs that match your selected key words will remain in the search list. This allows you to find the information you are looking for quickly and from different angles.
For example Suppose you want to find out more about credit loans in Domestic retail banking. To start your search, you could select the keyword ‘Mortgages and lending’ in the ‘Products and services’ facet. Your search result will include all paragraphs that refer to ‘Mortgages and lending’ (see figure 1). After that you click on 'Group entities' in the 'Organisation' section: a list of group entities will appear on your screen. The number behind each name indicates how many paragraphs refer to the group entity (see figure 2). By clicking on ‘Local Rabobanks’ you are left with a result of three paragraphs that refer to both ‘Mortgages and lending’ and ‘Local Rabobanks’ (see figure 3). From the title, the quotation of the source and the summary, you can deduct which paragraph best matches your search question (see figure 4).
Extra options This website contains several extra options to facilitate your search: 1. Sorting information At the top of the results list, you can sort the information by type of report. For example: with one click you can put all the information of the Consolidated financial statements at the top (see figure 5). 2. Search box You can type in a word in the search box at the top right of the screen. Subsequently you can refine the results by using one of the keywords in the facet menu on the left (see figure 6). 3. Previous/next result When you have opened and read a paragraph from one of the reports, you can go to the previous or next search result with one click (see figure 7). 4. Related information The right hand side column is reserved to present related information. These can be links within the website or links to external websites. 5. My RaboReport You can add interesting paragraphs to ‘My RaboReport’. By using this option, you can create a personalized PDF-file which you can then print or download.
